Copenhagen International Airport Train Transfers

All passengers that arrive at Copenhagen Airport have different transfer options that can take them to the further destination. Besides rental cars, vans, and taxis you can also take public transportation.

Copenhagen Airport by train

The airport's train station is located underneath Terminal 3 on the Øresund Railway Line.

The station is served by trains operated by DSB, which is the Danish national rail operator and provides InterCity and InterCity Express trains at this station.

Trains leave from Copenhagen Airport to the Copenhagen Central Station at a frequency of 20 minutes. The exact timetable is 24 minutes past the hour and 44 minutes past the hour. The journey to Copenhagen Central Station takes approximately 20 minutes. Trains are operating 24 hours.

Travelers can choose between one of the following train lines to get to the city center of Copenhagen, as well as Copenhagen Central Station: RE 1059, RE 1361, RE 1061, RE 1363, RE 1365.

Train tickets

A single train ticket costs DKK 36.00 per person.

In order to get to Copenhagen Central Station, you need to purchase a 3-zone ticket minimum.

You can also purchase any of the Travel cards available to save money and get your stay cheaper. Tickets can be purchased at the machines located nearby baggage claim and DSB ticket counters in Terminal 3.

Please be aware that you cannot buy tickets on the train and you risk being given a fine if you board without a valid ticket.

Trains between Copenhagen Airport and Sweden

DSB Øresund provides trains, running as local services between Copenhagen city center and Helsingør in Sweden. The train stops at Copenhagen Airport station.

In addition, Swedish SJ runs several high-speed trains with daily departures between Copenhagen central station (København H) and Stockholm central station (Stockholm C) and Gothenburg (Göteborg). These trains all stop at the Copenhagen Airport station (København Lufthavn/Kastrup).

Copenhagen Airport by metro

The metro station is located in the extension of Terminal 3. The Metro runs at 4–6-minute intervals during the day and evening hours and at 15–20-minute intervals at night. Passengers can get from the airport to the city center in approximately 15 minutes.

Metro Tickets

Tickets for the Metro can be bought at the station and at DSB's ticket office in Terminal 3. Please be aware that the ticket machines do not accept bank notes, only coins and credit cards such as Credit Card, VISA, etc.

You need to purchase a 3-zone ticket to get to the city center.

Fares for a one-way ride is DKK 36.00.
